Whānau Support

When parents and schools work together, children learn successfully. Parent participation in the school programme is actively encouraged through helping in the classroom, attending school trips, sports events, concerts, assemblies and participating in fundraising. Newmarket School is fortunate to have a hugely supportive parent community. Our community help in diverse ways, these include:

  • Some years we have a dedicated Newmarket Parent Support Group (PSG) who help organise fun family events and activities for the school community, at the same time as actively fundraising for various projects: eg. extra sports/music equipment.

  • Helping in classrooms, and with resource making

  • Helping during individual events

  • Sharing knowledge or expertise with students
