Drop-off and Collection of Children

Parking Policy

For children's safety we ask that parents/caregivers use the lower carpark for dropping off and collecting children.
The top car park is used for staff parking, goods delivery and other vehicles which facilitate the day-to-day operation of the school.  With the constant coming and going of vehicles in the top car park it is not safe for dropping off or collecting of children.
The gates are opened in the lower car park at 8.30am and again at 2.45pm to help the flow of traffic.  There is some roadside parking available on Seccombes Road and outside the school hall.
Please note that the small carpark beside the lower parking area is not for school use.

It is also recommended that parents do not stop and drop off/collect their children from the busy brow of Gillies Avenue by the main office.  This is a very busy main road and we urge you to err on the side of caution.

Safety

At 2.50/3.00pm bells, children who are being collected by car are escorted by teachers down the terraces to assemble at the bottom of the stairs by the lower car park.  For safety, parents/caregivers are asked to escort their children to their car and not allow them to walk through the carpark by themselves.  Do not beckon your child over as this area is very busy with the moving of cars in and out of the car parking area.
If children are using the adventure playground after 3pm, they must be supervised by their parent/caregiver.
The car park gates shut at 3.15pm.

Children not collected on time, by 3.15pm, will be escorted back upstairs to seating outside the school office area.  If children are not collected by 3.30pm they may be taken to After School Care for supervision.
Normal After School Fees will apply.

School responsibility for your child ends at 3.15pm - from this time your children are your responsibility.  If you are unable to collect them on time, please telephone the school office to advise the reason and your child will be informed of what arrangements have since been made for their collection.  Note the school office closes at 3.30pm.

Consistently late parents will be asked to make arrangements for After School Care in the future.

Bicycles

For the safety of children, the busy location of the school has made it necessary for the Board of Trustees to adopt a policy requiring children not to ride bicycles to school.
